Valentine's Day

you know... i am convinced that Valentine's Day is simply a marketing ploy to sell all the poor quality stuffed animals, chocolates, candies, and fake flowers that manufacturers can't get rid of the rest of the year, and they tack on a romantic label to encourage consumers to spend more money than they have on forced romanticism. isn't it sad? i think we should appreciate people we love because we love them... setting aside a special day every year to spike teen pregnancy rates and cheap product sales just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. then again that could be that toothpaste aftertaste...
if i seem bitter about the holiday, i'm not. it's just become a commercialized event like every other holiday we celebrate anymore.
i had classes and whatnot, hung out with people, called some people... it's all fun and games. no valentine this year, which is fine since i haven't had one ever, and i guess you can't miss what you've never had. it actually was good that i didn't have a valentine, because i don't know what i would have done had i had one... i didn't have enough time to plan anything special. such is life. i did spend time with someone that i care a great deal about but since we have a class together TR and sit next to each other in chapel MWF, it's nothing out of the ordinary...
i'd write more but my pillow is calling.
