ring a ding ding, it's spring!

i saw my first robin two days ago... spring is officially here! and little green things are starting to poke up through the dirt... i love all the seasons in their own right, and i get excited at the beginning of each one because it's a change. spring makes me happy. why? because birds start singing in the morning and building nests, little green buds pop out everywhere and blades of grass stretch to the sky, and daffodils and crocuses shyly lift their faces to the glowing sun. squirrels chatter, trees whisper with the warm breezes, and the ground sighs as it soaks in the early morning dew.

it feels like the world is waking up, stretching, and coming alive with every passing day. granted, we still get snow and frost every now and then, but the increasing warmth is undeniable. with this earthly season of growth and renewal comes a sense of my spirit coming alive as well.

it's been a cold winter for my soul. a lot of emotional snows have buried my heart, and frost has chilled it to the core... it's finally getting a chance to thaw and i'm reaching towards the Son to absorb every bit of life and warmth He can give. i'm choosing to make time to be showered by His presence, rather than hoping He'll come, and i'm lifting my face to His gloriousness that the world may see what He's planted in me.

on another note, i now have three jobs: one (my full-time job) at the Egg and I breakfast restaurant, another as a floorset staff member at Bath and Body Works (it basically means i move the smelly stuff around) twice a month, and the third is a recently acquired position at Charlotte Russe, a ladies' clothing store (which is part-time; two to four shifts a week). in the middle of all this i am trying to find a way to get sunday mornings off for church. as of yet, no such luck, but i'll keep trying. i need church.

i'd write more but it's late (10:40 pm) and i am an old lady that needs sleep before work... not to mention i can't think of anything interesting to talk about at the moment.

goodnight!
